This course provides Healthcare Professionals with the knowledge and skills to recognize and provide care in respiratory and cardiac emergencies.  Learn how to perform rescue breathing, one-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR.  How to use airway adjuncts, and how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED). As a professional rescuer, you need to be prepared for an emergency in advance.  This course satisfies re-certification under current American Heart Association guidelines for all Healthcare Providers.  This course also includes the Heimlich Maneuver, stroke recognition, and foreign body airway obstruction relief in child and infants.

Learn to save the life of a loved one, friend, co-worker, or a neighbor.  With the skills learned in this class, a victim of an emergency such as a heart attack, stroke, or foreign body airway obstruction can be saved if you act quickly at the scene to start the chain of survival.  During this class you will learn the symptoms, methods of treatment including rescue breathing, adult, child, and infant CPR, and how to operate an AED, prevention practices, and when to call 9-1-1.

A victim's chance for survival is dramatically improved through early CPR and defibrillation.  You too can take action if you have been trained and have access to a defibrillator.  This course covers the functions of the heart, when and how to defibrillate, AED precautions, and protocols, and maintenance.  During the first few minutes when a victim has collapsed, getting a defibrillator and someone to operate it, is the first step in saving a life. 

First Aid (Pediatric / Adult)........................................................$26.00/person

Eventually you will find yourself in a situation requiring first aid, either for yourself or for others.  Properly applied, first aid can mean life or death, rapid recovery or long hospitalization.  This class covers bleeding, broken bones, burns, seizures, and heat and cold related emergencies.  Isn't it better to know first aid and not need it than to need it and not know it?

First Aid Home Study-Blended Learning................................$30.00/person

This is a First Aid Self Study Packet for those who have had First Aid in the past.  Packets are completed at home and students must complete a skills evaluation session at one of our nearby facilities. 

OSHA Bloodborne Path. / HIV / Infection Control..................$26.00/person 

Topics discussed will include standard precautions, methods of transmission and prevention techniques.  Management of HIV/AIDS and current medication usedThis course satisfies  both the state of Florida and OSHA requirements for Healthcare Providers.  Newly updated to reflect current guidelines.  Also satisfies the current I-Budget Florida APD guidelines. 

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).................................$125.00/person

This course is designed for Healthcare Providers who either participate or direct in the resuscitation of a patient in or out of the hospital setting.  This course is based on the most current published clinical recommendations of the American Heart Association.  Through this ACLS course, providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.  Realistic simulations reinforce the following key concepts:  Proficiency in basic life support care; identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes; recognizing other life-threatening clinical solutions (such as stroke) and providing initial care;  ACLS algorithms; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

This course is designed for Healthcare Providers whose scope of practice involves pediatric patients.  Classroom based scenario's include both in-hospital and out-of-hospital resuscitation efforts.  All materials and information are based on the most recent current published clinical recommendations of the American Heart Association.  Through participation in this course, providers will develop and refine their skills in prevention and treatment of cardio-pulmonary collapse in the pediatric patient.  Typical simulations include identifying and treating the conditions that lead to pediatric cardiac arrest.  All presented in a low stress format that ensures a quality educational experience.

After a disaster, emergency workers may not be able to reach everyone right away.  In some cases it may take 3 or more days for help to arrive.  Your family disaster plan is the guide that will help to prepare your family to endure these difficult times.  Topics covered are: disaster supply kits, emergency contacts, before, during, and after a disaster, evacuation plans, shelters, family communications plan, generator safety, and special needs residents.

The fire safety presentation can be specificallly tailored to fit almost any group.  As a working Firefighter, as well as a Florida licensed Fire Inspector, our instructor is well versed in all aspects of fire safety.  This course easily conforms to both children and adult education.  Topics covered include home fire safety, issues of public and corporate fire safety considerations, cooking fire safety, electrical fire safety, holiday and seasonal fire safety, as well as other fire safety issues.  This is an enjoyable and informative presentation that is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who attend.

Water Safety Awareness..(including DVD)..............................$25.00/person

This water safety class is strictly a water safety and not an in-water rescue class.  A person taking this class should also be certified in CPR and First aid.  Topics covered are: drowning injuries, hot tubs & spas, backyard pools, unsupervised pools, water parks, lakes & rivers, ocean safety, life jackets, water activities, recognizing an emergency, water safety tips, the reason people drown, risk factors around water, and prevention and care.

Universal Sanitary Precautions (USP).....................................$15.00/person

"Universal Sanitary Precautions" are steps we should take to protect ourselves when we come into contact with the blood or body fluids or other people.  Universal Precautions are intended to stop the spread of germs to others.  Topics covered are: Ways in which germs spread, bloodborne pathogens, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hand washing, personal protective equipment, laundry procedures, sharps, and incident exposure.
